Mr. Tommie Joe Steptoe, age 90, of San Augustine County passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023, in Lufkin.

Mr. Steptoe was born April 18, 1933, in San Augustine County and had been a longtime area resident. He retired from Texas Department of Transportation as an heavy equipment operator.

Wife of 51 years: Nina Steptoe of San Augustine;  Sons: Donald Steptoe and wife Brenda of San Augustine, Randal Joe Steptoe and wife Barbara of San Augustine; Daughters: Pamela Smith and husband Ronald of San Augustine, Theresa Primrose and husband Bo of Jasper; Sisters: Doyline Bennefield, Margaret Chambless, Linda Runnels and husband Jimmie; Sister-in-law: Marilyn Steptoe 

Stepchildren: James Wade and wife Selena, Patsy Loftin;  Grandchildren: Jessica Rivette (Hunter), Bradley Steptoe, Christopher Steptoe (Lacey), Trey Taylor (Kayla), Brandy Sills (John), Katelyn Cole, Deanna Steptoe, Jamie Loftin (Shannon), Elizabeth Peterson (Troy),

Alli Short (Boykin),  Brandon Wade, Dustin Wade (Katherine), Colin Wade, Aly Warr (Boudro), Colton Thacker (Kristen)

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Sowell officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Attoyac Cemetery, located on County Road 3316.
