Thomas "Tom" Clayton McAbee

Thomas "Tom" Clayton McAbee, age 78, of San Augustine, Texas, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at his residence.

Tom was born February 12, 1942, in Smithville, Arkansas, to the late Lester E. McAbee and Arlena (Reynolds) McAbee. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked as an electrician for Pennzoil. He was a member of the San Augustine Volunteer Fire Department, San Augustine VFW, Redland Masonic Lodge, and Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

His survivors include his wife, Edith "Skip" McAbee; daughter, Tracy Mohr and husband David of Carthage; son, Judson McAbee of San Augustine; grandchildren, Mia Sartor, Haley Flowers, Bethanie McAbee, Clayton McAbee, Stephen Mohr, Samantha Barron, Courtney Mohr, and Logan Mohr; great-grandchild, Elijah Mohr; brother, Malcolm McAbee; sister, Marilyn Diaz; sisters-in-law, Aurea McAbee, Harriet Huff, and Bobbie Morrison; and numerous nieces, nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred McAbee.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, located at 1289 Tx Hwy 147 North in San Augustine.
