Sybil (Poulan) Harvey

Mrs. Sybil Poulan Harvey, age 91, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas. 

Mrs. Harvey was born December 8, 1930, in the Plum Ridge community to parents Maude (Miller) and Winfred Poulan. She had been a longtime resident of the Broaddus area. 

Sybil was a homemaker and dearly loved to take care of her family and friends. She owned and operated the Harvey Lakeview Cabins for many years with her husband Wondale. She had a "Green thumb" and loved to garden and grow flowers. Her passion was taking care of her grand, and great-grandchildren. Sybil was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who had the great honor of knowing and loving her.

Her survivors include her husband, Wondale Harvey of Broaddus, Texas; daughters, Pamela Sprague of Zavalla, Texas, and Gwen Edward and husband Troy of Henderson, Texas; a son, Russell Harvey Sr. and wife Toni of Broaddus, Texas; a sister, Maudine Frisby of Lufkin, Texas; eight grandchildren. Sharla Oliver and Ricky of Zavalla, Kara Andrepont and David of Black Forrest, Troy Dale Edwards and Michelle of Lufkin, Cody Edwards and Katy of Henderson, "K.K." Clarissa Hoke and Aaron of Huntington, Tasha Cheny and Mark of Pearland, Josh Nichols and Jada of Silsbee and Russell Harvey Jr., and Megan of Broaddus, and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Maude Poulan; brothers, Elton Poulan, Calvin "Mutt" Poulan, and Floyd "Cubby" Poulan; and a son-in-law, Roland Sprague. 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Milton Beard and Max Duncan officiating.  Committal service and interment will follow at Harvey Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas.
