Shena LaShele Smith

Shena LaShele Smith, age 36, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.

Shena was born March 8, 1984, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Jeanette (Pug) Tarver and Matt Smith.  She graduated from San Augustine High School in 2002 and later attended Stephen F. Austin State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Shena worked several years as a Registered Nurse.  A longtime area resident, she was a member of San Augustine County Cowboy Church.

Her survivors include her mother, Jeanette (Pug) Tarver Hall and Luke; father, Matt Smith and Carol Cartwright; sisters and brothers, Brittney and Josh Elliott, Justin Cade Bobbitt and Linsie, Lydia Hall, Arlyn Hall, Brandy Strickland, Cami Clement and Luke, Chelsi Ellerbe, and Clint Cartwright; nieces and nephews, Elijah, Daniel, Waylon, David, Cetch, Wylie, Tilden, Hayden, Emeri, Rhett, Presleigh, and Timber; step-father Kenny Bobbitt; bonus kids, Gabe, Phoenix (Princess), Casen, Juliette, Jagger, and Jett.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nay and Avey Smith and Burl and Bonnie Tarver.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Charles Sharp, Skipper Eberlan, and Charles Boyett officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, located on Hwy. 147 North.
