Mrs. Sarah Margaret Morton of San Augustine County, Texas, passed from this life Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin at the age of 82 years, 11 months, 2 days.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas, with Bro. Mike Belgard officiating. Interment will follow at Simpson Campground Cemetery, located on County Road 411 in Woden, Texas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020, from the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
Sarah Margaret was born to the late Marie (Bradley) Murray and Amos Murray on April 8, 1937, in Cleveland, Texas, and was a former longtime resident of the Channelview, Texas, before retiring to San Augustine County. She was retired from LyondellBasell Chemical in Channelview, working as a volume analyst. She was a member of the Chireno Baptist Church in Chireno.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 61 years, Charles Wayne Morton of San Augustine County; daughter, Fonda Morton of San Augustine County; granddaughter, Courtney Wicks of San Augustine County; great-grandchildren, Layne Morton and Grace Morton, both of San Augustine; sisters-in-law, Billie Lee of Humble, Texas, Barbara Brown and husband Charles of Mississippi, Patsy Templeton of Channelview, Texas, and Helen Fuelberg and husband Ronnie of Humble; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: David Murray Jr., David Smith, Jeremy McCauley, Dennis Lee, Dwayne Bennett, Tommy Mooney, Derrell Gardner, and John Apollo.
