Robert Earl Mosley was born September 17, 1949, to Arthur Jackson Mosley Sr. and Annie Maurine Williamson-Mosley in Zwolle, Louisiana. He died February 17, 2023, at his residence in San Augustine County, Texas. He has resided in the Sabine and San Augustine Counties area for the majority of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie Mosley Blue and husband John of Ford's Corner; brother, A.J. Mosley Jr. and wife Judy of Nacogdoches, Texas; sister, Louise McCary of Huntington, Texas; his longtime best friend, Alfred Walden, who was like a brother to him. He adored Artie Easley, who he mentored and looked upon as a son. Also, grandchildren, Alex Blue and wife Morgan of Rosevine, Tyler Mosley of Ford's Corner, Kyle Blue and wife Alexis of Hemphill, J.B. Mikeman of Ford's Corner, Hunter Mosley of San Augustine, and Jalyn Mosley of San Augustine. He is survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, along with many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Jason "Otis" Mosley; parents, Jack and Maurine Mosley; and brother, Don Mosley.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing 42 dominoes, riding horses, roping, working cattle, and raising birds. He loved spending time with family and friends; he loved to talk and never met a stranger. He enjoyed attending Mount Horeb Church and studying his Bible.
He was a welder and also worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. There was no piece of equipment that he could not operate.
Pallbearers: Tyler Mosley, J.B. Mikeman, Alex Blue, Hunter Mosley, Artie Easley, and Jason Forbis. Honorary pallbearers: Jason Brawley, Evan Bradford, and Josh Elliott.
Visitation will be at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home on Sunday, February 19, 2023, starting at 12:00pm. Graveside services will follow at
2 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Goat Hill Family Cemetery in the Ford's Corner community.
