Rev. Raymond Robbins Obituary

Rev. Raymond Robbins, age 80, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021, at his home at Heritage Ranch in Nacogdoches County, Texas.   

Bro. Robbins was born June 3, 1941, in Houston, Texas, to parents Earline (Franz) Robbins and Carl "Pete" Robbins. He obtained his Masters Degree in History, and was a longtime minister serving New Hope Congregational Methodist Church in Nacogdoches as pastor for several years. He had served as a member of Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital's board of directors, Nacogdoches Treatment Center board of directors, Ministerial Alliance, the Nacogdoches Antique Car Club, Optimist Club, and had also served Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital as a chaplain and the Congregational Methodist Church Division of Mission Ministries.  He was most recently a member of Alazan Congregational Methodist Church in Alazan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Robbins of Nacogdoches; daughter, Stacy Waits (Jeff) of Livingston; son, Paul Robbins (Claire) of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Taylor Waits, Stanton Waits, Annalisa Waits, Cavanaugh Waits, Anna Warren (TJ), Joel Redus (Michelle), Katie Blakemore (Caanan) and Ethan Robbins; and 9 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl "Pete" Robbins and Earline Robbins Kutschbach; and a brother, James Moehle.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at New Hope Congregational Methodist Church, located at 5301 E. Main Street, in Nacogdoches.  Officiating will be Rev. Robbyn Hunt, Dr. Phillip Knight, Dr. Jerry Jones, Rev. Brian Tyre, and Paul Robbins. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, located at 6296 Highway 21 East, in Nacogdoches. 

Visitation will be Sunday evening, November 7, 2021, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the New Hope Congregational Methodist Church in Nacogdoches.
