Misty LeeAnn (Satterwhite) Black

Misty LeeAnn Black, age 46, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at CHI St. Luke's Medical Center in San Augustine, Texas.

Born May 28, 1975, in Nacogdoches, Texas, she was a longtime resident of the Broaddus area. Mrs. Black was a deputy in the office of the San Augustine County Tax Assessor/Collector.

Family was very important to Misty, who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching them play softball and supporting their activities. Misty was a very avid reader and had even authored some stories of her own. She enjoyed drawing and playing games with Deacon.

Her survivors include her husband, Jerry Wayne Black of Broaddus, Texas; her mother, Diannia Vawter of Garrison, Texas; a daughter, Kimberly Johns and husband D.J. of Lufkin, Texas; her son, William Deacon Black of Broaddus, Texas; granddaughters, Karsyn Lyons and Kenley Johns of Lufkin, Texas; her siblings, Wyndi Cage of Nacogdoches, Texas, Cliff Satterwhite of Kansas, Jesi Satterwhite of Nacogdoches, Texas, Dana Berney of Dallas, Texas, George Berney of Dallas, Texas, and Lisa Chapman of Broaddus, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, John and Robbie Satterwhite; and her step-father, J.W. Vawter.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Sonny Scarborough and Bro. Steve McCeig officiating. Committal services will follow at Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas, with Bro. Keith Loving officiating.

Pallbearers: Andrew Williams, Avery Malloy, Art York, Brian Cage, Mike Satterwhite, and Keith Chapman.
