Michael Scott Butts

Mr. Michael Scott Butts, age 56, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

"Scott" was born August 4, 1964, in Lufkin, Texas, to parents John H. Butts and the late Patricia Mathews Butts. He lived in the Burleson, Texas, area for a number of years before recently relocating back to his hometown of San Augustine. Scott, who worked as a real estate agent for many years, was a 1982 graduate of San Augustine High School and was a member of a Non-Denominational Church. Scott was an outstanding athlete at San Augustine High School and went on to play baseball for Angelina College in Lufkin. He had a great love for all things outdoors and gardening.

His survivors include his step-children, Tara Lane and Toni Carson of Burleson, Texas; father and step-mother, John H. and Martha Butts of San Augustine, Texas; brother, Patrick Butts and wife Melanie of Arlington, Texas; step-sisters, Syliva and her husband Scott Bay of Houston, Texas, and Paige and her husband Kirby Kapp of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren, Taylan Villarreal, Dalton Lane, Dylan Lane, and Brayden Wanger, all of Burleson, Texas; great-granddaughter, Brinley Lane of Burleson, Texas; nieces and nephews, Ashley and Jordan Jones, Samuel Butts, and Ainsley Butts, all of Arlington, Texas, Taylor and Sara Martin of Raleigh, North Carolina, Bill and Lauren Bay of Houston, Texas, Suzanne Bay of Dallas, Texas, Wilson and Molly Martin of Rockwall, Texas, and Mary Kathryn Martin of Austin, Texas; along with numerous close friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Paula D. Butts, in 2014; his mother, Patricia Mathews Butts, in 1978; and a brother, John Mathews Butts, in 1993.

Interment was conducted Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Burleson Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 500 Memorial Plaza in Burleson, Texas.
