Mrs. Mary Carolyn Robinson, age 96, of San Augustine, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in San Augustine.
Mary was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas, on September 12, 1923, to the late Leona (Rockman) Norman and William B. Norman. She went to school in Little Rock, Arkansas, and later lived in Illinois before moving to Texas with her husband and sons in 1951. She was an elementary school substitute teacher, helped her husband run his electrical business, and later taught Sunday school and Bible school. She always loved teaching people. Mary was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing and quilting. Mary had a gift for writing and it was always a delight to receive one of her thoughtfully handwritten cards and letters.
Mary was a lifelong Baptist, most recently a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, and was a dedicated member of the Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years where she served as Worthy Matron for two different chapters.
She is survived by a son, Gary Neal Robinson of Galveston; one granddaughter, Marie Ann Boykin (Scott) of League City; and two great-grandsons, Aaron and Blake Boykin; sister, Olive Tollett, three nephews, and three nieces.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Raymond Curtis Robinson; son, William Robinson; her parents, William B. and Leona Norman; sister, Billie Kost and a niece, Susie Moore.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Bethany Memorial Gardens, located at 7078 Hwy. 87 North in Milam, Texas, under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Holrath officiating.
