Letitia Belle Prince Holt passed away peacefully at her home in Chireno, Texas, on October 2, 2020. She was born March 24, 1930, in Chireno, Texas, to Silas and Virginia Prince.
She was a “people person” and was genuinely interested and cared about the well-being of others. She showed this by being open minded, as well as being a wonderful listener, and a good conversationalist. She had a true love of reading. She took tremendous pride in her family - not only her current family, but the legacy of a strong maternal line of women ancestors. In her own handwriting she recorded her memories of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives in their own personal books which were greatly cherished. In her eighties she became a “published author” of a book, Shelby Mountain. For a period of time she also showed talent as an artist, using watercolors and oil. She was an excellent homemaker and always made a “home” of any place her family lived. She loved to travel and planned many a memorable family vacation and “day trips.” She was not particularly fond of cooking, yet she was an excellent and committed cook for many years! Her love for the Lord and the faith she showed in her daily walk with Him is the most important thing that could ever be said about her.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, John & Gloria Holt, Virginia & Terry Booker, Anna & Roger Westbrook, and David & Lori Holt. Grandchildren: Melissa Crain, Laura Morgan, Sarah Booker, Jason Booker, Daniel Loudermilk, Michael Loudermilk, Rachel Thomas, & Lindsey Wilbur. Great-Grandchildren: Jessica, Isabella & Connor Crain; John & Katherine Morgan; Holt & Tate Booker; Elijah, Luke, Caleb, Abigail & Hannah Letitia Loudermilk; and Joshua Thomas. Sister, Jean Elise Smith; Sister-in-law, Joy Miller; Brother and Sister-in-law, Morgan & Phyllis Prince. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Alton Holt, parents, Silas & Virginia Prince, two brothers-in-law, Vester Smith & Melvin Miller, Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law: Brooksie & Bud Kennemer, Kathryn & Roy Littlefield, Billy & Jackie Holt
