Lennard Charles New

Lennard Charles New, 93, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, in San Augustine, Texas. He was born November 16, 1929, in Long Beach, California, to Leo and Wanda New. 

Lennard married Hazel in 1950 in Long Beach, California, where they raised their daughter, Valerie.  Lennard was a plumber and a member of Southern California Pipe Trades Local #78 for 69 years. He and his wife built an apartment house, then moved to a single-family home where they would stay until 2017 when they moved to San Augustine, Texas, to live with their daughter Valerie and her husband Louis on a beautiful ranch.

Lennard was part of a bowling league in his younger years and enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. He was an avid stamp collector until his passing.

Lennard was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie; granddaughter, Johanna; great-grandson, Devin; son-in-law, Robert; parents, Leo and Wanda; and brothers, Ellsworth and Leo.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; granddaughters, Jennifer Moore (Josh), Janice Van Mourik (Shanna), and Julie Hahn (Scott); and great-grandchildren, Sean, Taylor, Scotty, Patrick and Naomi.

A private celebration of life will be held in Buda, Texas.
