Lattie Hunter Obituary

Mrs. Lattie Hunter, age 78,  a longtime resident of San Augustine, passed from this life late Thursday evening, June 25, 2020, in Nacogdoches. 

Lattie was born to the late Bertha (Stringer) Noble and Clifton Noble on November 15, 1941, in Center, Texas.  She married the love of her life, the late Tommy Hunter, on November 4, 1960.  She was a retired County Government employee, having served in the San Augustine County Extension office, and worked as a private duty nurse for many years. 

She, along with her late husband Tommy, was a strong supporter of the local High School Rodeo, as well as working with 4-H and countless youth projects for many years.  She was dedicated to several aspects of ministry, the grievance committee, the youth Wednesday night meals, and the Christmas Shoe Box Mission serving faithfully at her beloved Liberty Hill Baptist Church in San Augustine.

Those who will cherish her memory include, her daughters, Becky Hunter of Livingston, Texas, and Cissi Smith and her husband Lee of Nacogdoches, Texas;  her beloved five grandchildren, Shane Bridges and wife Elise of San Augustine, Texas, Scott Bridges and his wife Kristin of Lufkin, Texas, Jeremy Bridges of Livingston, Texas, LeAnn Smith of Houston, Texas, and Nicholas Smith and wife Kandice of Caldwell, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Colt Bridges, Lane Bridges, Everett Bridges, Ellie Smith, Reese Bridges, Edwin Bridges, Hunter Smith, and Emmett Bridges; brothers, Bill Noble and his wife Linda of Center, Texas, and Don Noble of Shelbyville, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Janice Lake and her husband, Maxie of Gary, Texas

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Hunter; parents, Clifton and Bertha Noble; sister, Julia Hagler and her husband Lamar; sister-in-law, Sue Ann Noble; and a brother-in-law, Dan Hunter and his wife, Ann.

Memorial contributions are requested to be made to San Augustine 4-H Scholarship Program; The Jr. Livestock Committee Scholarship Program; or the Sunday School Class at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Private committal services will be held with a memorial service to be announced at a future time.
