Joycelyn "Ann" Falleur Obituary

Mrs. Joycelyn "Ann" Falleur, age 77, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Falleur was born September 21, 1943, in Vidor, Texas, to parents A.P. Ross and Ruth Vestal Ross. Ann spent the majority of her life in the Broaddus area. As a young girl she traveled with her family to many different states as her father worked as a welder.

Ann had many loves in her life beginning with her children. She worked hard to provide for them and teach them to love one another. She was a caregiver to her elderly parents for many years. Once her grandchildren began to come along she discovered a new joy in life. She was extremely proud of her all of her grandchildren and would show them her love in a variety of ways. In 1988, she married Mike having found another love in her life. Together they travelled the country hunting and fishing to their hearts’ content. Ann was always proud to show off her game or to take pictures of Mike’s kills for the day. Mule deer, whitetail, turkey, pheasants, antelope or whatever they were hunting that day didn’t stand a chance with the two of them together. They also loved to spend time on the lake fishing together and bringing along any grandchildren that wanted to go.

Later in life Ann and Mike would spend their days together at the casinos, again bringing any kids that wanted to go along. Ann was a lover of the beach. She enjoyed many cruises to beautiful locations including Aruba, Alaska, and various Caribbean ports. She was always ready for the next adventure. Ann was known for bountiful gardens each year. Her dinner table and those of her children were often filled with her hard work. She was a provider for her family. Over the years, Ann sewed many beautiful quilts in her “spare” time. She was an avid reader and shared her love of books with her children and grandchildren.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved son.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Burks, on July 23, 2020.
