Mr. Joseph Perry Benson, age 69, of Bronson, Texas, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022.
Mr. Benson was born June 23, 1952, in Ventura, California, to parents Lottie Mae (Wooster) and James Elbert Benson. He had lived in the Bronson area for a number years and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1969 to 1973. He was truck driver for a number of years and a member of Crossroads Christian Church.
His survivors include his wife, Rhonda Boaz Benson of Bronson; son, Keith Benson of Vinton, Louisiana; step-daughter, Pam Adkins of Broaddus; step-son, Malcolm Bennefield of San Augustine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Spencer and Crystal Boaz of Bronson; nephew, Roger Boaz and his wife, Rebekah, and their children, Shealyn, Slayter, and Stryder, all of Nacogdoches; a brother, Alfred Benson of San Antonio; a sister, Stephanie Mashell Curlee of Kilgore; and his fur babies, Fuzzy Butt and Princess.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Lottie Mae Benson; son, Mark Allen Bedford; sister, Linda Lavier Benson; and a brother, Ronnie Benson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at CrossRoads Christian Center Church, located at the intersection of Hwy. 103 and FM 1277, with Pastor Tim Swanson officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pineland.
