John B. Dwire

Mr. John Bennis Dwire, age 76, of San Augustine passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at his son's residence.

Mr. Dwire was born Sept. 20, 1947, in San Augustine to parents Oma Naomi (Vines) and Bronson Cooper Dwire Sr.

John was a lifelong area resident and member of the Baptist Church. He was a very well-known and respected plumber in the area. Many residents and businesses in the area depended on Mr. Dwire for their plumbing needs. 

His survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Bronson and Shannon Dwire and Benjamin and Brandi Dwire; an adopted daughter, Tammy Lynn; granddaughter, LeeAnn Dwire; grandsons, John Dwire and Bradley Dwire; and great-grandchildren, Alexander Bowley and Lyric Dwire, one "on the way," Toby Dwire.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Dwire, in 2004; his father, Bronson Cooper Dwire Sr. in 1964; his mother, Oma Naomi Dwire, in 2005; brother, Bronson Cooper "B.C." Dwire Jr., in 1979; and nieces, Sharon Dwire, in 2021, and Pamela Denby, in 2021.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Corinth Cemetery, located on FM 353 near San Augustine, with Bro. Michael Dickerson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, prior to leaving in procession to the graveside.

Pallbearers: Bronson Dwire, Benjamin Dwire, John Dwire, Bradley Dwire, Danny Paul Ross, and Frankie Skeeters. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary "Yogi" Andrews.
