John Doyen Obituary
Mr. John D. Doyen passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, at CHI St. Luke's Medical Center in San Augustine, Texas, at the age of 83.
Born January 15, 1936, in Sabine County, Texas, he was a longtime area resident. HIs parents were the late Everett Eddie Doyen and Mary Ethel (Loggins) Doyen. John D. was a retired equipment operator, having worked in construction for a number of years. He was a member of the Rosevine United Pentecostal Church. An avid lover of music, John D. enjoyed playing guitar.
His survivors include his wife of 57 years, Nelda Doyen; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lynn Doyen McDaneil and Carl of San Augustine, Texas, Sandra Williams and Shelton of San Augustine, Texas, and Jeannie Reeves Roberts and Freddy of Nacogdoches, Texas; sisters, Marie Darr of Silsbee, Texas, and Betty Diffey of Lufkin, Texas; a brother-in-law, B.C. Kornegay of Pollok, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Doyen and Lennis Doyen; and sisters, Marcell Kornegay, Henrietta Risinger, and Virgie Lee Bradshaw.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gordon Simmons officiating. Interment and committal services will follow at Rosevine Cemetery, located on FM 1 in Sabine County, Texas.
