Joe K. Higginbotham

Mr. Joe Kiser Higginbotham, age 87, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at Stone Creek Village Nursing Home in San Augustine.

Born June 14, 1932, in San Augustine County, Joe was a lifelong area resident and member of First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1952 to 1954. Joe was the retired owner/operator of Higginbotham Heating & Air.

His survivors include his daughter, Brenda Jordan and husband Shayne of Houston, Texas; son, Dennis Higginbotham and wife Glenda of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandson, Shoyne Jordan and wife Kelly of Midland, Texas; granddaughters, Tiona Campbell and husband Chris of Houston, Texas, Brandi Higginbotham-Looney and husband Shane of Austin, Texas, Jamie Lasiter and husband Trent of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Alanna Casto of Nacogdoches, Texas; his siblings, Lucille Calk of Monroe, Louisiana, Sam Higginbotham of Flower Mound, Texas, Dorothy Kelly of Houston, Texas, Peggy Shannon of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Katherine McCauley of San Augustine, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Atom and Emberlin Casto, Charlee Lasiter, Noah, Zack, and Adalee Campbell, Taylor Jordan, and Logan Maddux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Eula Mae Higginbotham.

Private graveside services are being planned.

Joe's family has suggested that memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
