Mr. Jimmy Lane Scott was born February 13, 1946, in Galveston, Texas, to parents John Coleman Scott and Estella Montgomery Scott. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Bethel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Maxey Town Community.
In the year of 1965, he married the love of his life Gloria Jean Johnson unto this union 2 children were born Natalie and Jimmy. Mr. Scott faithfully served his country in the United States Army for 20 years serving in the Vietnam War. Following his military retirement, he returned to San Augustine and worked and retired from SAISD after 20 plus years of service.
On Tuesday, January 22, 2020 at his residence, with no final farewell, Jimmy Lane Scott answered his final call after an extended illness of Agent Orange.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 54 years Gloria Jean Scott, a daughter, Natalie Norman-Brown of Houston, Texas; a son, Jimmy Dwayne Scott and Haggard “Lynn” of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, Alissa Norman, Jasmine Hall, Savannah Scott, Christopher Scott, Shawn Scott, and a great-granddaughter Sage Green; a brother, Larry Scott and wife Vernestine of Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Ellen Long and husband Dale of Garland, Texas. He also leaves aunts, uncles and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, family, and friends who will also cherish his memories.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
