Mr. James Bracey of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, in Broaddus at the age of 94.
Born May 7, 1926, to parents Jay and Hazel (Hammond) Bracey, he was a native of Osaka, Mississippi, and had lived in Broaddus for several years. Mr. Bracey was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked in the construction industry, retiring as a superintendent. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Broaddus.
His survivors include his daughter, Charlotte Collins of Smithville, Texas; son, Robert Bracey of Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Collins of Austin, Texas, Jessica-Leigh Matcek and husband Auston of Driftwood, Texas, and Meghan-Elizabeth Collins of Austin, Texas; his second family, Jonathan and Jessica Quinney, Hailey Quinney, Blaine Quinney, Kaylynn Quinney, Levi Quinney, Remington Latham, all of Broaddus, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Mott Bracey, in 2006; his parents, Jay and Hazel Bracey; and a brother, Bobby Bracey.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
Services are set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel in San Augustine with Dr. W. Wayne Barth, FBC pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Runnels Cemetery near Broaddus, Texas.
Pallbearers: Jonathan Quinney, Blaine Quinney, Christopher Collins, Michael Tullis, Greg Stewart, and Auston Matcek.
