J.C. Lee

Mr. J.C. Lee, age 71, of San Augustine County, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at a Tyler, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Lee was born September 4, 1950, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents Annie (Tyler) and Hershel Robert Lee. J.C. was a longtime resident of San Augustine County and had worked several years as a logger and timber contractor. 

His survivors include his wife, Wendy Hill-Lee of San Augustine County; daughter, Dana Lee and Joshua Near of Georgia; a son, Brenton Lee and Donya of San Augustine; brothers, Hershel Lee and Karen of Coldspring, Texas, and Danny Lee and Brenda of Bronson, Texas; sisters, Sarah Minton and Larry of New Caney, Texas, and Martha Lynn Lee of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Price and Clay of Greenville, Texas, Stephanie Burrage and Eric of Kentucky, Jonathan Baker and Pepper of Malakoff, Texas, Dustin Lee and Brittany of Abilene, Texas, and Savannah Lee and Tyler of San Augustine; great-grandchildren, Koltyn Cochran, Emmett Burrage, and Greyson Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Annie Lee; and a brother, John Lee.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Larry Minton and Chad Parker officiating. Interment will follow at the Attoyac Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jon Baker, Dustin Lee, Clay Price, Joshua Near, R.J. Bohac, and Dustin Josey. Honorary pallbearers: great-grandsons and Eric Burrage.
