Elvin Watson

Mr. Elvin Watson, age 83, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his residence in San Augustine County, Texas.

He was born March 11, 1940, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents William and Alpha Doca (McDaniel) Watson. Mr. Watson was a longtime resident of the East Texas area and retired from Bright Coop Company in Nacogdoches as a foreman. He had a great passion for fox hunting and enjoyed many great adventures at many fields, traveling far and near.

His survivors include his daughters, Shelia Watson of San Augustine, Texas, Ann Crocker of Center, Texas, and Tammy McSwain of Center, Texas; a son, Larry Watson of San Augustine, Texas; a sister, Joyce Watson of San Augustine, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Ruth (Griffin) Watson; his parents, William and Alpha Doca Watson; sons-in-law, Stacy McSwain, Mike Owens and Wayne Crocker; and his siblings, Lorene Wiatt, Sybil Fountain, Stella Watson, Jim Watson,  Calvin Watson, Melvin Watson, and Nell Watson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel. Committal service and interment will follow at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden, located on Hwy. 147 North.

Pallbearers: Nicholas Crocker, Michael Crocker, Daniel McSwain, Camden Nichols, Hayden Nichols, and Dewayne Crocker.
