Durward Butler Obituary

Mr. Durward Butler, age 91, of Chireno, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, in San Augustine, Texas.

He was born October 28, 1928, in San Augustine County, Texas, to the late H. O. "Hub" Butler and Evie (Walton) Butler. He married Georgie Ann Gartman, June 5, 1953. They were married for 63 years until her death. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from maintenance at SFA State University. He was a Master Mason for 50 plus years, a member of Milam Masonic Lodge.

His survivors include son, James Michael Butler and wife Karen of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Allyson Delafield and husband Evan of Nacogdoches; great-grandchildren Taylor Delafield and Blair Delafield; sisters, Janice McMullen and Joy Keeling; brother, Hilliard Butler and wife Carol; sister-in-law, Karon Gartman; brother-in-law, Harold Hagle; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by wife Ann Butler; parents Hub & Evie Butler; sister Sandra Hagle; niece Kristi Herzinger

Private graveside services are being planned.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Chireno Baptist Church.
