Doris Medley

Doris Medley, age 83, was born January 24, 1941, to the late James Odie and Dorthy Lee (Goedsburry) Wilkerson, in Shelby County, Texas. She passed from this life on Monday, February 12, 2024, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

A longtime resident of the San Augustine area, Doris was a housewife and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time outside working in her yard. Doris married the love of her life, HJ Medley, on June 25, 1955.  She was a member of the San Augustine Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Glenn Medley and wife Loretta; granddaughter-in-law, Jayme Medley and husband Tim Smith; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Medley, Macie Medley, Lane Smith, all of Nacogdoches; and sister, Beatrice Johns of Carlsbad, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Odie and Dorthy Lee Wilkerson; husband, HJ Medley; and grandson, Brandon Medley.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Austin Wiggins officiating. Interment followed at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden, located on Hwy. 147 North in San Augustine.
