David Lynn Bryan

Mr. David Lynn Bryan of Huntington, Texas and a former longtime resident of San Augustine County, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at CHI St. Luke’s Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas.

David was born April 13, 1954, to parents Barbara (Jasper) and Charles Bryan and was a graduate of San Augustine High School. He was a former resident of Waco, Texas, as well as San Augustine and had most recently lived in Huntington. He had worked as a butcher for many years in San Augustine at Bryan Locker Plant and later worked several years with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) where he retired. Following his retirement, he served as a jailer with San Augustine County Sheriff’s Department.

His survivors include his daughter, Ashley Bryan and husband Johnathan Beck of Huntington, Texas; grandchildren, Haley Bryan, Elysabeth Bryan, Charles Bryan, Miles Bryan, Logan Beck, Wayde Beck and Tobias Beck; sister, Carla Bryan Niebuhr and husband Ron of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; brother, Michael Bryan and wife Keisha of Lufkin, Texas; nephews Tyler Bryan and wife Jessica and their children, Hayden Dial and fiancée Kaylon and their children and niece Payton Watts and cousins Keith Jasper and Sharon Jasper Bridges and husband Mike.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara Bryan; and his grandparents, C.E. “Charlie” and Lushia (Harvey) Bryan and Curtis and Ida Mae (Wilkinson) Jasper.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro Randy Mills officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Williams Cemetery near Broaddus, Texas.

Pallbearers: Gerald King, Marlon Farr, Matt Nethery, Tyler Bryan, Ron Niebuhr, David Smith, Johnathan Beck and Billy Waller.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in David’s memory.
