Daniel Carroll Culbreth

December 15, 1959 ~ November 3, 2021 (age 61)


Daniel Carroll "Danny" Culbreth passed away peacefully on November 3, 2021, with family and friends by his side after a brief illness from cancer. Danny was born December 15, 1959, in Bay City, Texas, to Ted “ Teddy” Carroll Culbreth and Gloria Harvey Culbreth Dixon.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Gina (husband Jim) Smith and three grandchildren, Cathlynn Marie, Jaxson Ryker and Deacon James Smith; his mother, Gloria Dixon; his brother, Paul (wife Sara) Culbreth; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Ted Carroll Culbreth; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Eleanor Harvey; his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Velma Culbreth; and a number of aunts and uncles.

Danny was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family, his life long friends and hunting. 

Services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021, with family gathering from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas. He will be laid to rest following an 11:30 a.m. graveside service at the Wood-Snell Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas.

Thank you to his many friends and family who visited Danny daily during his illness and a special thanks to his doctor and nurses at Hospice in the Pines; their care and compassion toward Danny was simply amazing.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in honor of Danny to Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Care in Lufkin, Texas.
