Clifford Paul McDonald Sr., age 71, of San Augustine, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021, in Lufkin, Texas. He was born January 16, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to the late Paul McDonald and Bobbie (Schoppe) Knox.
Clifford began his 37 year career with the United States Postal Service in Houston, Texas. During his career, he served as a mail clerk, letter carrier, supervisor, and postmaster-in-charge in Lufkin and Nacogdoches. He was a member of Clawson Assembly of God Church in Pollok, Texas, and served as a board member (deacon). He had a heart for missions in South Africa and traveled there in 2014 & 2016. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Jeanne for 43 years. He was a loving dad and gramps to eight grandchildren. Clifford sacrificially lived his life by serving others. He faithfully put the needs, desires and joy of his family and others ahead of his own.
His survivors include his wife Jeanne McDonald of San Augustine; children Jennifer Lowe and husband Matt of Lufkin, Lathan McDonald and wife Shanna of Buna, Jessica Ponder and husband David of Lufkin, Clifford McDonald Jr. and wife Jennifer of Palestine, and Shannon Harris and husband Brian of Mt. Belvieu; grandchildren Austin, Addison, and Aiden Ponder, Sidney and Weston Lunsford, McKenzie McDonald, Cheyanne McDonald and Lauralee McDonald; step-dad Thurman Knox; sisters Paulette Kasper, Cheryl Duckett; brother Stephen Knox
He was preceded in death by parents Paul McDonald and Bobbie Knox; brother Roger McDonald
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the Clawson Assembly of God Church in Pollok, Texas, officiated by Pastor Josh Poage and Pastor Kevin Poage. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas. Burial will be Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 3:00pm, in the Liberty Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in San Augustine, Texas.
Pallbearers include Lathan McDonald, David Ponder, Austin Ponder, Matt Lowe, Charles Wilson, Ken Jones.
