Bobbie Campbell Roberts Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Campbell Roberts, age 82, a longtime San Augustine County resident, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at Stone Creek Village Nursing Home in San Augustine, Texas.

Mrs. Roberts was born October 12, 1938, in Shelby County, Texas, to parents George and Lois Griffin and was a graduate of Center High School. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Bobbie and her late husband, N. Douglas Campbell Sr., were the owners and operators of Campbell Oil Company in San Augustine for many years. They received numerous sales awards during their tenure. Bobbie enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and had a great passion for music.

She was active in her community and will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, a more than proud grandmother and friend to many. 

Her survivors include her daughter, Pam Priehs of San Augustine, Texas; a son, Doug Campbell Jr. and wife Linda of San Augustine, Texas; her former husband and close friend, Troy Roberts of San Augustine, Texas; a step-son, Troy L. Roberts and wife Kayleigh of Liberty, Texas; step-daughters, Tara Rubel and husband Frank of Dunedin, Florida, and Theresa Dyer and husband Michael of Athens, Georgia; grandchildren, Whitney Troy and husband Troy of Huntington, Texas, Nick Hinson of Lufkin, Texas, Mike Porter of San Augustine, Texas, and Melisa Simpson and husband Jake of Tatum, Texas; step-grandchildren, Hollie Roberts, Brooke Roberts, Huston Roberts, and Bayleigh Roberts, all of Liberty, Texas, Michael Dyer of Athens, Georgia, and Kendall Rubel of Dunedin, Florida; sisters, Barbara Cruse, Betty Lou Shull and husband George, Beverly Hendrick and husband Larry, and Brenda "Dolly" Adair; brothers, Bert Griffin and wife Eileen and Bo Griffin; "sister and brother in love," Mary K. and Larry Hardy; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, N. Douglas Campbell Sr., in 1987; a son, Luke Mark Campbell; her parents, George and Lois Griffin; sisters, Billie Watson and Brooksie Tindol; and brothers, Bernice Griffin and Johnny Griffin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Intement and committal services will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park, located on Hwy. 7 in Center, Texas.

Pallbearers: David Norton, Jeff Norton, Larry Hardy, Nick Hinson, T.L. Roberts, Troy Troy, Doug Campbell Jr., and Mike Porter. Honorary pallbearer: Larry Campbell.
