Mrs. Bessie Louise Eberlan Bryan was born to Roy C. "Ben" Eberlan and Claudie Florine Eberlan in San Augustine, Texas, on July 24, 1934.
Bessie passed peacefully and went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Family on March 15, 2022.
She was a member of San Augustine Missionary Baptist Church. She played a vital role in adult and youth associations and was a youtyh Sunday School teacher for several years. She went to school at Goodwin School as a child and San Augustine schools as a teenager. She attended the College of the Mainland, Texas City, for business and accounting.
She worked in San Augustine back in the day at the well known City Cafe. She was an auditor for several Holiday Inn hotels in Houston and San Augustine, San Augustine Southwest Transformers, and retired from Mills Ace Hardware in 1995 as an accounting bookkeeper.
She is survived by two daughters, Kayla Neal Moore and Vonda Tackett Rachal, both of Lufkin, Texas; a brother, Rayford Eberlan of Jasper, Texas; an honorary son, Andrew Eberlan of Carthage, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Bryan; her parents, Ben and Florine Eberlan; her son, Kenneth Wayne Neal; a great-great-granddaughter, Aubree Goodwin; and her brothers, Roy Eberlan, Sammy Eberlan, and Jimmie Eberlan.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Skipper Eberlan and bro. Cliff Durham officiating. Interment will follow at the Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine County.
Pallbearers: Russell Gillaspia, Larry Smith, Vinceson Moore, Andrew Eberlan, Scotty Neal, and Thomas Jackson. Honorary pallbearer: Pam Eberlan.
