Barbara Sue (Henley) Evans

Mrs. Barbara Sue Henley Evans, age 74, of San Augustine passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Evans was born December 6, 1946, in San Augustine County to parents Earl and Gladys (Parker) Henley and was a longtime area resident. She worked several years in the insurance business and had several years of service to San Augustine Drug Company.  She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Her survivors include her sons, Charles A. Evans Jr. of San Augustine and Curtis Evans and wife Jennifer of Huntington; a daughter, Lisa Riley and husband Morris of Caddo Mills; sisters, Mildred Couch of San Augustine and Elaine Wells of Broaddus; brothers, Grady Henley and wife JoAnn of Deer Park and Keith Henley of San Antonio; grandchildren, Justin Joachimi, Caleb Wall, Jason Cole Evans, Taylor Evans, Kristen Evans, Hunter Evans, Kailea Dodson, Trevor Riley, Logan Evans, and Trinity Riley; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Evans Sr., in 2018; her parents, Rev. Earl and Gladys Henley; a grandson, Seth Evans; and a daughter-in-law, Inyda Evans.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be  held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wade Bryan and Grady Henley officiating. Interment will follow at Dickerson Cemetery, located on County Road 4255 in San Augustine County.

Pallbearers: Robert Brown, Alton Steptoe, Chuck Wells, Wesley Bennefield, Adam Steptoe, and Marty Couch. Grandchildren are honorary pallbearers.
