Ann (Hammond) Lane

Charlotte Ann (Hammond) Lane of Hemphill, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Harbor House at the age of 74.

Ann was born July 28, 1945, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to parents Henry Lee and Chrysteel (Morehead) Hammond. She was a lifelong Baptist and most recently a member of Hemphill's First Baptist Church. 

She was a graduate of Buna High School. Ann and Robert Charles Lane were married Sept. 3, 1966. They were longtime residents of the Buna/Kirbyville area as well as Hemphill. She held a master's degree and retired from teaching with the Kirbyville and Hemphill school districts. 

Her survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kerri and Rick Reynolds, and Mandy and Justin Allen, all of Sour Lake, Texas; and her grandchildren, Taylor Reynolds, Kasey Reynolds, Breanna Reynolds, Audrey Allen, and Bridget Allen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lane, in 2010; her father, Henry Lee Hammond, in 1982; mother, Chrysteel Hammond, in 1995, and her brother, Gary Hammond, in 2004.

Memorial gatherings have been scheduled: Friday, July 24, 2020, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Antioch Memorial Bulding adjacent to Antioch Cemetery, located on FM 1004 west of Buna, Texas; and Saturday, July 25, 2020, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Harborlight Meeting Room, located on FM 3121 near Hemphill, Texas.
