Mrs. Alice Blanche (Woods) Murray, age 91, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away early Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hemphill, Texas.
Born May 2, 1932, in San Augustine County to parents Ellie Mae (Birdwell) and Hamp W. Woods, she was a lifelong area resident and member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved her family, always seeing to their needs. Mrs. Murray had worked several years as a clerk for Family Shoe Center in San Augustine.
Her survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Jimmy Hardy, Nancy and Eddie Stiles, Gail and Tony Fuller, and Kathy and Jason Boyd; grandchildren, Pam Curbow, April Burkett, Michael Hardy, Cody Stiles, Cade Fuller, Todd Stiles, Tara Lyons (Sam), Savannah Pyron (Montrell), and Bethany Boyd; great-grandchildren, Calli, Cason, Camden, Kera, Kagen, Braden, Brianna, Braxton, Easton, Mason, Payton, Cheyenne, Kylee, Chance, Milo, Nigel, and Niles; and great-great-grandchildren, Avery, Ella, Corbin, Gus, Riverlyn arriving in November, and Woodrow arriving in February.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Murray; granddaughter, Erin Fuller; parents, Hamp and Ellie Woods; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Frances Woods; and sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Luke Loukas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Erin's Meadow Cemetery, located off FM 1592 and Hwy. 103 in Rosevine, Texas.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons, and a special friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to either Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hemphill or the Gideon's International in Blanche's memory.
