Lila Joy Allen

Mrs. Lila Joy Allen,  age 86,  of Jacksonville, Texas, passed from this life on Saturday, December 28, 2019, in Tyler, Texas.  Mrs. Allen was born July 3. 1933, in the Goodwin Community, in San Augustine County, Texas, to the late Edna (Grandberry) Wall and Simon T. Wall.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, in San Augustine, with Bro. T.A. Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas. 

She married the love of her life who has preceded her in death,  Mr. Emmett Allen. They made their home in the Houston/Pasadena, Texas area, and she was retired from the clerical department in the Harris County Government Offices and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Chapter and the First Baptist Church in Pasadena.

She is survived by daughter, Veda Szentgyorgyi of Jacksonville, Texas; daughter Jacquelyn Stephens and husband Tom of Richards, Texas; son, Nicky Edmon Holloway and wife Vicky of Ackerman, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jeannie Nelson, Jason Alston, Nicki Lean Berguerisse, Andy Holloway, Wes Strutton, Selena Bush, and Amanda Macbeth; Great grand children Ethan VonderEmbse, Kyle VonderEmbse, Zane Nelson, Kalub Alston, Hunter Mattherws, Andrew Matthews, Elijah Strutton, Autumn Strutton, Tamryn Bardwell, Deah Stevenson, Chance Bush, and Brittany Bush; brothers, Travis Wall, Jr., and his wife, Cindy of Nacogdoches, Texas and Mike Wall and his wife, Mary of Humble, Texas; sisters, Oveda Nichols of Deer Park, Texas and Peggy Goodwin of Houston, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emmett Allen; grandchildren, Ronnie Tardy, Jr. and Jeannette VonderEmbse; sisters, Loretta Moody; Pauline Murray; Wilma Riley and Sherry Lynn Wall.
