LaVelle McBride

Mrs. LaVelle McBride of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in Hemphill, Texas, at the age of 91.

Born March 30, 1928, Mrs. McBride was a daughter of the late Roy N. Rash and Mary Lois Stephenson Rash and a longtime resident of San Augustine County. She retired from San Augustine Independent School District following more than 45 years of service as dietitian. As long as health permitted, Mrs. McBride was a faithful and dedicated member of San Augustine's First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doss McBride, in 1987; along with her parents and a sister, Mattie Lou Farrell.

Her survivors include her son, Don McBride and wife Sheila of Orange, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Wiggins of Hemphill, Texas; a nephew, Buddy Farrell of Houston; four grandchildren, Deanna Metcalf and husband Bryan of San Augustine, Texas, Trey Wiggins of Beaumont, Texas, Pamela McBride of San Augustine, Texas, and Vincent Wiggins of Beaumont, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Anna Metcalf, Kolby Bryant, John Baxter Metcalf, Kyndel Bryant, and Veronica Wiggins; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Tannery, Pearl Price, Opal Pike, and JoAnn McBride; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, located at 502 E. Columbia St. In San Augustine, Texas, with Bro. Rick Russell officiating. Interment will follow at McRae Cemetery west of San Augustine, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church, continuing until service time. 

Pallbearers: Trey Wiggins, Vincent Wiggins, Keith McBride, Jerry McBride, Larry McBride, and Eddie Pike.

Honorary pallbearers: Richard Price, Paul Price, Kent Tannery, Philip Tannery, Joe McBride Jr., Ronald McBride, Tracy Pike, and Ray Neil McEachern.
